We use free-range, grass fed meat raised on traceable, approved New Zealand farms, and seafood caught from the oceans surrounding our country using ecologically sustainable practices. New Zealand regulations guarantee all meat and seafood must be free from added hormones, antibiotics and growth promotants.
Don’t know where New Zealand is? Don’t worry, we are easy to miss! We are a small island nation in the South Pacific. A location so remote, it is only accessible by sea or air. Some people may think this is isolating being literally at the corner of the world, but for New Zealand farms, fisherman and horticulturalists it’s a distinct competitive advantage.
Our Standards
To protect our precious land and resources, New Zealand has strict biosecurity controls that ensure our livestock remains disease free. The meat proteins and organs ZiwiPeak use come from disease-free animals, requiring no disease management interventions.
With a long history of primary production, New Zealand is known world-wide for its high quality meat, fish, dairy and wool exports. It is the backbone of the New Zealand economy and as such the Government has stringent regulations and policies. Overseeing this is the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI), their role is to provide independent, trusted assurance to importing countries that all New Zealand products exceed requirements and they have some of the highest standards in the world. MPI audit ZiwiPeak’s manufacturing operations on a regular basis in line with our quality assurance plan and our risk management plan. It is a highly regarded process to ensure we are always producing the best.
Our Farmers
Our ZiwiPeak products achieve the highest level of MPI certification because our meat is farmed in New Zealand by farmers we know and trust. Our lamb, venison, and beef are raised outdoors, in large open spaces all year round. They are pasture-raised and grass-fed with no added hormones or growth promotants, and are free of antibiotics. They are also GMO free. Our farms are owned by New Zealand families, with a strong culture of hard work, honesty and integrity.
